  1. I have never been a very political person in the past but it is so incredibly important to advocate for our students. I have had to remind myself that I am advocating for the program, not begging people, because asking teachers and parents to join the forum or contact the BOE is starting to feel like begging. With that said, if I am not willing to continually talk about it and ask others to make their voices heard than who else is going to do it?

  2. I just want to be a kick-a** reading teacher. But I guess it turns out I need to be a political advocate, too.

That being said, it's been an amazing year with my readers- and it feels like an absolute gift.
